Really? No One’s Talking about How Tom Clancy Died?

“The only way to do all the things you’d like to do is to read.”—Tom Clancy (Thomas Leo "Tom" Clancy, Jr. / April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013)

This may be practically unheard of, you know? How did Tom Clancy die? Why is the public being kept ignorant on this one? I’ve already read a couple tweets suggesting conspiracy. That would be in keeping with his books, of course, but it’s also in keeping with the fact that it’s a rare bird indeed whose cause of death isn’t spoken of these days, especially a famous author’s. Even if the cause isn’t known by anyone (e.g., doctors, family) there should be a statement to that effect at least. AIDS and suicides are no longer taboo topics, not that I’m saying either applies here. I have no idea what applies here, and that’s the problem.

In the meantime, hoping more will come out eventually, here’s a quote of his I relate to as a fledgling fiction writer, followed by two links you may want to check out.

  • “You learn to write the same way you learn to play golf. You do it, and keep doing it until you get it right. A lot of people think something mystical happens to you, that maybe the muse kisses you on the ear. But writing isn’t divinely inspired – it’s hard work.”–Tom Clancy
  • The only Clancy book I read was The Hunt for Red October, which was excellent. I didn’t read more of his because my interests didn’t match his, and therefore I found them a little hard to comprehend… For an annotated list of his books (Wikipedia provides an annotated list of all his books and also a (major characters) Jack Ryan/John Clark universe chronology. 1. Liz West says:

I think people have a right to privacy in death. Maybe Clancy died of something embarrassing or something that he didn’t want known. Why should it matter to anyone outside of his family, assuming no one suspects foul play?

      • Part of the issue here, I think, is that he was a public figure. I certainly agree that while a person lives, his wishes for privacy should be honored as much as possible. But once a person dies, I believe the automatic right to privacy dies as well. I mean this in terms of writing memoirs or biographies of people, for instance. After a person’s death, it’s no longer possible to hurt his/her feelings. Yes, one’s living relatives should be considered, but here, again, we come to the fact that, in this case, Tom Clancy was a public figure, and truths related to him should be part of the historic picture, just as a memoir is subject to criticism when it hides or changes truths. And I certainly am not advocating anything sensational be exposed as such–as a sensational finding. But the more a society hides from truths, the more hurt will follow. No one should be embarrassed by facts of life, and death. And please, this is all just my opinion, of course! Thank you so much, Liz, for voicing yours.

    2. There is a feel about his death as if details are being locked down so that their can be no risk of contradiction or any thing that might draw attention. Ever in cyberland there are rumours of rumors but trying actually finding such details (regardless of the key word search combination you use) most of the links I do find turn out to be taken down and invalid when clicked on. If did not know better some one doing a mighty fine job of scrubbing such rumours out – an interesting statement in itself. Four words NETFORCE xb1 naval yards.

    3. Correction: I state XB1that should be XB-47

Now go and review victims involved in AI engineering UAV’s, Carrier Design, Bio Engineering, Codes linked to space-warfare in Yard shooting, Batman shooting, Gabrielle Gifford Shooting, Flight 571 and Continental Connection Flight 3401 and the death of AI Bioengineering magnate Donald Hess.

Clancy smoked three packets of cigarettes a day. So to die at 66 is not such a big deal but why not tell public and it seems even his publicist and family are unclear as to cause.

Critic will correctly state my “joining of the dots” as some famous author (lol) once said is pure conspiracy theory. And they would be correct but hell science calls this a hypothesis, law a proposition and in intelligence will we call it intelligence.

Repeat patterns and correlation of timing all point to common denominators.

Once stuff happens, two coincidence three enemy action.

Multiple cases of high level military contractors going nuts and killings (always reported with more than one shooter in initial reports) that prove not so random at all (victim areas of specialty and security clearance levels above the norm). Over four aircraft crashes all showing signs of sudden electrical failure in which the victims are also at heart of AI UAV and em based second generation weaponry.

At the very least what a great Clancy novel it would make.
